National Giving Day

We have come through unprecedented times in the last 18 months or so, and even now are not able to say that we are through the Covid pandemic. The effects of the pandemic have been life altering and will no doubt continue to influence our lives in the future.

We have all felt powerless and certainly more vulnerable during this time, but in such moments we are often more perceptive of God’s grace, and more grateful for his gifts and blessings.

The Church of Scotland has invited all churches to engage in a National Giving Day during this season of Harvest (September – October).

As the Covid restrictions mean that we are not able to enjoy Harvest Thanksgiving in the normal way by bringing gifts of food etc. the Kirk Session thought that it would be appropriate to request money donations for Harvest Thanksgiving which we can then distribute to others including for example Mulanje Mission Hospital, Fresh Start, Mary’s Meals and others.

Although Harvest Thanksgiving is Sunday 4th October we can receive donations throughout September and October. Donations can be made online through the Church of Scotland website using the ‘Donate’ button and can be directed to our own Church using this link.

For anyone making a Bank Transfer directly to our Church Account the relevant details are:

Account: Stockbridge Parish Church

Sort Code: 80-11-05

Account No. 00622045

Please reference your transfers NGD.

We are also happy to receive cheques, or cash. If you are sending cheques, please make them payable to Stockbridge Parish Church (NGD).

The Minister and the Kirk Session want to acknowledge and give thanks to you, our church family and supporters, for your faithful giving during these challenging times. Without your support and encouragement, and willingness and ability to embrace the use of technology, our worship and ministry could have not continued in the way we have managed to enjoy, despite the difficult circumstances.

Thank you.
